SUBMIT A SCRIPT

Stage Frights 2026

Each October we produce a stage show of horror themed plays for a live audience at Le Chat Noir theatre in Augusta, GA. This live show also gets released as an episode on our podcast and YouTube. If you would like to submit a script to Stage Frights 2026, please read the guidelines below.

  • Script Length - 15 pages or less (please make sure pages are numbered)
  • Each writer may submit up to two scripts.
  • Genre - Horror ONLY. These can be super scary or can be horror comedies or any other horror subgenre. Please include a synopsis in the script so that your horror element is clear. We also love it when spooky sound FX are incorporated. We have a foley guy for this live show. Make us use him.
  • Cast Size - 2 or more characters. No one-person shows.
  • Please send your script as PDF documents only.
  • Format - Any format as long as its dialogue based and we can tell what's going on in the story. We don't produce audiobooks. Please don't submit a prose story and expect us to adapt your work to a dialogue format for voice actors to perform. 
  • Submit your script to submissions@gatherbytheghostlight.com with the subject line "STAGE FRIGHTS SUBMISSION"
  • BLIND SUBMISSION - No Author information should be on your script. Contact info should ONLY be in the body of your email submission.
  • The body of your email should look like this -
    Name: Edgar Poe
    Script Title: The Nevar
    Email: edgarthepoester@gangstamail.com 
    That's it. That's all we need. Please don't include a bio or a long list of production history or awards won. The person monitoring this inbox is only looking for these three things so that they can copy and post them to our master sheet before the scripts are distributed to the dark minion readers. They aren't going to read anything else in the email.
  • A total of six scripts will be selected for production.
  • Each writer will be paid $50 if their script is selected and will be published in our STAGE FRIGHTS ANTHOLOGY Book.
  • DEADLINE - July 10, 2026.
  • Please know that all submissions (that follow the guidelines) will be read by a panel of anonymous readers. You will be contacted by the end of July if we want to produce your script for STAGE FRIGHTS.
  • We recommend that you listen to previous productions of Stage Frights on our podcast so that you get a feel for the type of works we produce for that series. Or watch the filmed performance from last year - STAGE FRIGHTS: THE SEQUEL-ISH

Stand Alone Stories

Throughout the year, we produce one-off episodes featuring stand alone stories as part of our ongoing anthology. If you would like to submit a script for consideration, please read the guidelines below.

  • Script Length - 20 to 60 pages (please make sure pages are numbered)
  • Genre - Any
  • Cast Size - 2 or more characters. No one-person shows.
  • Please send your script as PDF documents only.
  • Format - Any format as long as its dialogue based and we can tell what's going on in the story. We don't produce audiobooks. Please don't submit a prose story and expect us to adapt your work to a dialogue format for voice actors to perform. 
  • Submit your script to submissions@gatherbytheghostlight.com with the subject line "STAND ALONE STORY SUBMISSION"
  • Include all of your contact info in the body of the email and on the script.
  • Writers will be paid $50-100 depending on the length of their script if selected.
  • We recommend that you listen to previous productions on our podcast so that you get a feel for the type of works we produce.

Series Scripts

Do you have an idea for a limited or ongoing audio drama series with multiple seasons? Pitch it to us! We are releasing our first series on February 23 and have a few others currently in development and we are actively looking for others that would fit 8 to 10 episodes in length. Payment to writers will be negotiated based on number of episodes and their lengths if selected to be produced.

If you would like to submit a series idea, send an email to submissions@gatherbytheghostlight.com with the subject line "SERIES PITCH". If we are interested in your pitch, we will reach out to you. Be prepared to send us at least a pilot episode of 20 pages or more. 

 

With the overwhelming amount of submissions we receive from these ongoing submission calls, we kindly ask that submitters please not follow up on submissions. In most cases, you will only hear from us if we want to produce your script or hear more about your series idea. If you haven't heard from us within six months of your submission, then its safe to assume that we did not want to move forward with your submission at this time.
