Jay Rehak is a writer, podcaster, publisher, and app developer. A teacher for 34 years, he was fortunate enough to work for 28 years at Whitney Young High School, where he taught English at every level, from freshman writing to Advanced Placement Literature. During his final 8 years at WY, he also produced DUBTV, a weekly news and comedy show.
Mr. Rehak is the author of 27 produced short plays, 3 novels, and has co-written 13 novels with his students and friends.
Jay has spoken at numerous educational conferences around the country; his TedX Northwestern talk, “How to Teach Empathy through Collaborative Writing” is available on YouTube. In 2013, Mr. Rehak created and co-authored the award winning 30 Days to Empathy, the world’s first high school class sourced novel.
Host of the podcast, “Tell Me What Happened,” Mr. Rehak interviews people from all walks of life to speak of early childhood experiences and the impact of such events on their respective lives.
